A Mario Kart Birthday

The card I made for my big brother's birthday! He loves to play Mario Kart!
Hey Friends! Today I am going to tell you about a homemade card I worked on for my brother's birthday!

Since he loves Mario Kart and these two Nintendo Wii 'Miis' he made, I thought I would include them in his birthday card. One Mii is named B.O.B. and another is named Mitch (after himself). You can see Mitch's face behind Mario and Luigi. Instead of the word "Wii" I substituted it with "B.O.B." so we won't run into problems.

I'd like to thank Nintendo Wii for the amazing ideas and creativity which inspired this card.

Chibi Winged Boy Blushing

Hey, Friends!
I drew this Chibi winged-boy when I was trying to draw a simple boy in a school uniform but it turned out like this. How about some tips?

Tip #01:  Start with simple shapes such as ovals, squares, and triangles.
Tip#02:  Sketch in the details and go over them later on with a darker color.
Tip#03: Use shading. Shading can be your best friend when it comes to drawing. I use a *stump.

* A stump is a rolled-up tube of cardboard or paper you could probably get at a craft store. I got mine from my art teacher. Rub it against what you want to blend or shade.

Here's the link to my video tutorial: Chibi winged-boy.

Anime boy in blended pastels

During some free time at school
Ahhh, art class, my favorite subject in school. I had "free-time" because I had already finished the assignment and helped organize supplies for my teacher. Hmmm, what to do, what to do...
"Alas, we meet again Pastels," I said to myself as I picked up a box of chalky mess disguised as sticks. I began to draw scraggly lines that started to look like hair. Then, I thought,  "Why not? Give it a try!" I colored it in black and blended it with my finger. I sketched out his neck and face in some color that resembled yellow mixed with beige. Then I outlined, shaded and did some more blending (of course). I like blending. And there we had it!
Many of my classmates tried bidding on it and I was flattered but I wanted to bring it home instead. (Well, the highest they bid was a dollar, anyway!).

Tips on "How to Draw Anime Eyes" in my Anime School Girl

Anime School Girl
Hello, Readers!
You may see that little monkey or hippo design near my name. That is my new signature! (It's supposed to be a hippo.)

Eyes are a big part of anime art. I think the eyes are really cool. I'll try to give you some steps on how to draw dramatic anime eyes.

Step. 1. Draw arches above and below where you want your eye.
Step. 2. Draw eyelashes, make them bigger toward the arch and thin them out toward the inner eye.
Step. 3. Draw a circle connected to the arch, put a thin dent in it. In the circle, draw a small circle in the center for the pupil.
Step. 4. Draw lines around the pupil, going around neatly.
Step. 5. Shade in the eye going from pitch black to lighter and lighter and so on.

Thanks for reading, be sure to check back soon!

Drawing Tips for "How to Make Chibi Pets"

When I was drawing this Chibi Dog, it was a reminder of a puppy we tried to adopt at the SPCA, a Cockier Spaniel named Daisy. My mom got really attached to the dog. The kennel wouldn't allow us to get it because it was snippy with children and we were heartbroken. Instead, we adopted a white and gold Llapsa-Poo, Sammy. He is still part of our family today, many years later.

Start with the basic shapes.
Usually, I'm just good at drawing people so I was a surprised how well the Chibi Dog turned out.
Step. 1: Start with the basics. Draw a fair-sized circle for the head and a round peanut shape for the body.
A close-up

Step.2: Draw in the details like eyebrows, eyes, curls, nose, mouth, decorations, maybe some shading. Anything you want! Add in a fluffy tail and shading for the body.

I've been drawing anime boys and girls based on characters that I see in books like the Loveless series for a couple of years now. I'd also like to thank Christopher Hart. I received one of his books on Japanese comics last summer as a gift. He is like a mentor yet we never met.

I really hope you  like my posts! Be sure to come back for more tips. Also, be sure to look for some of my videos on YouTube.com!

Drawing tips for "How to draw a chibi girl wearing a hoodie/raincoat."

A taste of my second video, "How to draw a chibi girl in a hoodie/raincoat"!
Hey friends, this is a blog entry about my second video! If anyone didn't hear in the first video or didn't watch it, 1. Watch the first video too! 2. My name is Madison! Anyways, this is a little girl (Chibi-style) wearing a hoodie or raincoat.
I drew this one in remembrance of me when I was small. Tromping in puddles! Splash! My hair plastered to my face. The hard cold breeze blowing. Whoosh! My cheeks and nose a florescent shade of red. Sniffle. Cough.
This video on how to draw a chibi girl takes you through all the steps starting with a simple circle! Enjoy!
