Drawing Tips for "How to Make Chibi Pets"

When I was drawing this Chibi Dog, it was a reminder of a puppy we tried to adopt at the SPCA, a Cockier Spaniel named Daisy. My mom got really attached to the dog. The kennel wouldn't allow us to get it because it was snippy with children and we were heartbroken. Instead, we adopted a white and gold Llapsa-Poo, Sammy. He is still part of our family today, many years later.

Start with the basic shapes.
Usually, I'm just good at drawing people so I was a surprised how well the Chibi Dog turned out.
Step. 1: Start with the basics. Draw a fair-sized circle for the head and a round peanut shape for the body.

Step.2: Draw in the details like eyebrows, eyes, curls, nose, mouth, decorations, maybe some shading. Anything you want! Add in a fluffy tail and shading for the body.

I've been drawing anime boys and girls based on characters that I see in books like the Loveless series for a couple of years now. I'd also like to thank Christopher Hart. I received one of his books on Japanese comics last summer as a gift. He is like a mentor yet we never met.

I really hope you  like my posts! Be sure to come back for more tips. Also, be sure to look for some of my videos on YouTube.com!
