My Mom and I drove by a small group of shops and one caught my eye. It's called Painting With a Twist.* It's a painting shop obviously, so naturally I begged my mom over and over again to go there. She said it combines art with wine and was for adults. So we checked out their website and read that they hold kid's classes too!
A couple weeks later I arrived at the class my mom had signed me up for. As you can tell, the class focused on a Beta-fish. I have already worked with paints and knew my way around a canvas, but when I was there it was a whole other experience! I learned so many new techniques I never heard of. The teachers were sooo friendly and they had all the supplies at my fingertips! I loved the experience and my painting turned out great.
*Even though the store is mostly for adults, if you take a look at their website linked above, you'll see they have fun kids' classes too for children ages 7 years old and up!
Anime Art Magic 8D
I'm a young artist who enjoys drawing in my spare time. I especially like to draw anime and teach friends and family how to make Japanese characters like chibis with their larger than life eyes and cute expressions. I will show you step-by-step.

Alice in Wonderland Remake
I was reading the old classic and wondered "What would Alice look like in anime?' I drew her blue dress, her blonde-yellow hair, and added a little makeup of course!
She's ready for action! In the book the colors had faded so it was harder to draw and color it correctly. But I stuck through it!

Swathi The Panda Fairy
I drew this in honor of my best friend, Swathi. She is OBSESSED with pandas. Panda pillows, panda stuffed animals, and panda calendars! So I thought out of the box and thought "Why can't she be a fairy?"
Here are some tips.
- Oversize the Wings
- Draw wings like you would butterfly wings.
- Make the dress look as if it is being blown by the wind.
- Use LOTS of color.

I drew this pencil sketch trying to draw a girl. It kinda morphed into this man...haha.
I used a paper towel to blend the pencil.

Heartbroken Kitty
Aw, a heartbroken cat-monster thing. Isn't he cute?
I drew him after playing many video games. I drew it as if you could see his heart pounding. Notice the "gushers" spurting from his eyes? They are forming a puddle beneath his as if he has been crying for a long time. They almost look 3- D. I especially liked drawing his rigid fur. I love drawing animals that almost look human like this one.
Tip: All your drawing don't have to be happy exactly, as long as you like them.
Chibi King.
I was drawing this when while listening to Q 102.1. I was trying to think of something to draw and listening to Pop, Rock, and other current hits usually helps. One word that has been popular lately kept popping into my head, "Boss". Who is a boss? The president, the governor, a king. A king! So I started sketching and going over things and this was the outcome. I really like this one because of his smile and eyes. I like the eyes because I never tried them in this particular style. And the teeth because I find it hard to draw a smiling "all-teeth" showing smile but I did it!

A Mario Kart Birthday
The card I made for my big brother's birthday! He loves to play Mario Kart! |
Since he loves Mario Kart and these two Nintendo Wii 'Miis' he made, I thought I would include them in his birthday card. One Mii is named B.O.B. and another is named Mitch (after himself). You can see Mitch's face behind Mario and Luigi. Instead of the word "Wii" I substituted it with "B.O.B." so we won't run into problems.
I'd like to thank Nintendo Wii for the amazing ideas and creativity which inspired this card.
